Women’s chorus visits Spivey Hall

Wednesday, March 23, Sandy Creek High School took their Advanced Women’s and Chamber choir to the widely known Spivey Hall. The two choruses were accompanied by chorus director, Mr. Robertson, and Ms. Singleton to Clayton State University in Clayton County. The performance observed by the chorus was directed by world renowned Dr. Martha Shaw. Dr. Shaw is the founding director of the Spivey Hall Children’s Choir & Tour Choir Program in Atlanta and serves as its Artistic Director and Conductor. Shaw is the Director of Choirs at Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA. The chorus wasn’t the only school asked to attend, but in Angelina Vance’s opinion, SCHS was “the most elated” in receiving the music performed. The music performed included a piece from  District Honor Chorus from January titled His Eye is on the Sparrow. All in all, the chorus enjoyed the performance and the “fun energy” that was shown.

Upon coming back to SCHS, the choruses enjoyed Chick-fil-A after 3rd lunch.
